The Catholic Schools of Kolwezi town celebrated with pomp Day of Catholic Schools (YCS)
The Feast of the JEC, the Catholic Education Day was celebrated with pomp this Saturday, May 22, 2010 by all Catholic schools in the town of Kolwezi. This day, held inside the College Blessed John XXIII, was marked by:
• A Eucharistic celebration during which the sacraments of baptism, confirmation and eucharist were conferred on students prepared during the school year
• A parade of schools, enhanced by the band and the cheerleaders of the mining company Gecamines
• A refreshment offered to our guests in the Great Hall of the college,
• And finally, sporting events for girls and boys: The Winner Umoja School Daughters of the Institute Tupendane was crowned champion of the year, while among boys, the match which ended with zero at the end of regulation time and penalties will be replayed later.
• The next day (Sunday, May 23), all teachers and headteachers Catholic schools have found themselves in the great hall to celebrate High School Umoja to close the manifestations of JEC by a family dinner and dance .... They were more than 800 people.
The Feast of the JEC in Kolwezi is celebrated on the weekend of the last week of school during the national calendar. It is preceded by many months ago to organize a sports league in the disciplines of basketball for girls and football for boys and girls.
